This work forms part of the £6.1 million Town2Turf project to improve pedestrian links between the stadium area and Burnley town centre.
Measures are being included in the Town2Turf scheme to help ensure the safety of members of the public on match days. Hydraulic bollards will be installed in the carriageway at both ends of Harry Potts Way.
They will be flush to the road surface and only raised on match days when Harry Potts Way is closed to traffic.
Permanent bollards will be installed in the footways at the same points and will be designed to provide enough space for wheelchairs users and people with pushchairs etcetera to get through.
BURNLEY will be the first football club in the country to install security barriers to protect fans from potential terrorist attacks.
The temporary barriers, which were first used outside Turf Moor for Burnley’s 2-0 win over Swansea, prevent drivers from ramming vehicles into supporters making their way to the ground.
These barriers are in place to halt any vehicles from entering Harry Potts Way [which runs alongside Turf Moor] and protect pedestrians as they make their way into and out of the stadium.
Cyclists and wheelchair users can pass through the barriers, which can be dropped in under 30 seconds to enable access for the emergency services.
